ADDING DATA TO IMAGES
It is often useful to keep information such as image title and photographer linked directly to an image, for instance, when submitting it for a competition. It is possible to use Windows to add data to an image and here is how you may do this.
1. Find the folder containing the image using My Computer or Explorer.
2. Right-click on the image and select Properties from the list that appears.
3. If you are using XP then click on the Summary tag and fill in the appropriate text box e.g. Title, Author etc. then click on OK. If you are using Vista then click on the Details tab, hover over the Value column and fill in the appropriate text box that appears. This has yet to be used by the author in Windows 7 so any advice on that operating system would be welcome.
4. Right-click on the Headings bar and tick the appropriate sections to check that the data you have added will be displayed when selecting Details from the View menu. It will not be displayed in an Icons view.
